BioToon is a fun and creative event where biotechnology students get to blend science with art. Participants will be given surprise topics on the spot, related to biology and biotechnology, and will channel their imagination to create an original cartoon or artwork. It’s the perfect platform to showcase scientific understanding through a splash of creativity and humour.
Rules & Regulations:
1. Theme Announcement
• A specific science-related theme or concept will be provided at
the beginning of the event (on spot).
• All participants must strictly adhere to the announced theme,
ensuring it is clearly represented in their cartoon.
2. Cartoon Format
• The cartoon must be hand-drawn only (no digital artwork
permitted).
• Entries should be submitted on A4-size chart paper (will be
provided).
3. Creativity & Originality
• The cartoon must be the participant’s own original work,
created specifically for this event.
• Plagiarism, tracing, or copying existing cartoons will lead to
disqualification.
4. Message & Clarity
• The cartoon should effectively communicate the given science
theme.
• Participants are encouraged to strike a balance between
humour and education.
• The message must be insightful, fun, and easy to understand.
5. Participation Rules
• Participation is only allowed as an individual.

6. Submission Guidelines
• Completed cartoons must be submitted within the given
timeframe.
• Late submissions will not be entertained.
7. Judging Criteria
• Creativity & Innovation – 30%
• Relevance to Theme – 30%
• Clarity of Message – 20%
• Humour & Presentation – 20%
8. General Rules
• The decision of the judges will be final and binding.
• Any misconduct or violation of rules will result in immediate
disqualification.
• Organizers reserve the right to use the submitted cartoons for
display or promotional purposes (with due credit to the
creators).
